“Your results are normal.”

Or what about “You just need to keep trying”?

These are just two of the most common statements my clients are told by their doctors or IVF specialists when they are trying to figure out why they aren’t getting or staying pregnant.

And whilst I know your heart drops every time you hear a statement like that, the good news is … it doesn’t matter what you’ve been told before!

When a doctor says “nothing’s wrong”, but obviously there is something going on…

It just means they have reached the limit of their knowledge or testing abilities, it doesn’t mean it is the end of the road for you.

Now, don’t get me wrong. The basic tests done by doctors are vital. And should be your first step.

There ARE More Options

But what I am about to discuss, is what your options are if you do those basic medical tests and still don’t have answers.

When this happens we need to take a step back and look at each person within the couple as a whole person, and identify ALL the signs and symptoms that indicate that something isn’t right at a cellular level.

Then we look at what happens when those two people and all their factors try to join together!

It’s often the combined factors that are the problem.

For example, let’s say the male partner has poor digestion and he’s stressed out. Which means he’s likely got a lot of inflammation in his body and he’s not absorbing his nutrients well. These two simple factors can significantly reduce the quality of his sperm.

If he’s got MTHFR and a folate issue on top, then that’s a significant problem.

The female partner has slightly low thyroid function and a silent overgrowth of yeast in her system. This reduces her egg quality, affects hormones and uterine health.

When the egg accepts the sperm, it’s got to try to “fix” any problems it has.

But the egg is already under stress and doesn’t have what it needs to do that work.

Hence, the cells cannot divide and grow at the right speed.

These factors may seem “minor” and be deemed “irrelevant” by many doctors, but the truth is we see how much of a difference it makes to address these factors every day in clinical practice.

Without a complete assessment in place that takes into account everything that can impact your reproductive system and the quality of the DNA in the egg and sperm, you may try for years and years and never get an answer as to why things aren’t working.

And when you don’t know what’s wrong… you don’t know what to fix… so nothing changes.

If you would like to start looking at the big picture of your health and your partners, I encourage you to get a copy of my book and learn about all the factors influencing your reproductive outcomes.
