Eating a varied, whole foods, preferably organic diet is the foundation of health and never more so than during pre-conception preparation as well as throughout pregnancy and breast feeding.

The body utilises components of the foods you eat to build and repair tissue. During pregnancy your baby is literally building thousands of new cells every single day. Each of these cells requires DNA to be copied and replicated properly in order to avoid “mistakes”.

The tissue needs nutrients, especially amino acids from protein, as building blocks. Supportive nutrients include minerals, vitamins and essential fatty acids – all of which are explained in my book, “How to Have a Healthy Baby”.

So back to the rainbow. Dr Deanna Minich has prepared a Rainbow Diet Tool Kit to help you keep your meals colourful and nutritious.
