Yet another article in the newspaper has prompted me to write about preventative health care. When a nine year old girl is diagnosed with ovarian cancer, something is very wrong with that scenario. Could this have been prevented? Perhaps, but I feel that it would be beneficial to delve deeper into this girl’s health and lifestyle history, as well as that of her mother and grandmother. Why? You ask. Well let me explain.
In my book, Chapter 2, I elaborate on how lifestyle factors, which includes exposure to environmental toxins, impacts health outcomes across multiple generations. For example, a female foetus produces all of her eggs very early in the gestational cycle. During the time when those eggs are being produced they are extremely sensitive to environmental insults. Exposure of the mother to chemicals and toxins during pregnancy affects the quality of the unborn daughter’s oocytes. However, this impact goes back to the grandmother of the foetus.
Many of our modern lifestyle factors are detrimental both to fertility and the health outcomes of our children and grandchildren. Being equipped with this knowledge as well as how to avoid these damaging impacts, is empowering.
You will find numerous blogs on this site addressing preventative health care, how to improve both male and female fertility, as well as improving the health outcomes of your babies for the rest of their lives. My book is just the beginning so get your copy on Amazon today.
