For too long. sperm quality has been overlooked but we now know that it plays a big role in not just fertility but the risk of pregnancy loss too.

Factors like exposure to certain toxins, smoking, and even ageing can cause fragmentation, which can seriously mess with embryo development and, ultimately, pregnancy success.

Men are all too often overlooked when addressing fertility or failed pregnancy issues. Far too many men are reluctant, or completely averse, to even consider there may be a problem with their sperm.

Section 1 of my book begins with a chapter relating specifically to men, helping them understand their vital role in making a baby.

More than 40% of patients facing recurrent pregnancy loss are left without an explanation for their losses. Research has primarily focused on maternal causes, but there is growing evidence demonstrating the impact of male factors. One area of focus is DNA fragmentation – a test which relates to the percentage of sperm with DNA damage present in an ejaculate.

A recent study, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31056315/, revealed that there was an association between sperm DNA fragmentation and recurrent pregnancy loss.
